The Future of Online Time Reporting

A new online time reporting system, called "TRS" has been developed to integrate with PPS. It has been in use at UC Davis since March 2012. TRS can accommodate employees with multiple job assignments, alternate work schedules, shift differentials and leave usage reporting. Additionally, TRS performs automated overtime and premium holiday pay calculations.

In the future, TRS will be the only campus time reporting system which will directly interface with UCPath, with the exception of the current Health System and Vet Med Teaching Hospital Kronos solutions, which have been granted an exception by UCPath Executive Sponsors.

Implementation of TRS

TRS implementations have been put on hold during the biweekly conversion and will resume after the biweekly payroll conversion is complete.

Key Points

  • Employees will be migrated to TRS in phases. Timelines are yet to be determined.
  • Employees who have been recording their time on paper will also be converted to TRS.
  • Training will be available to all users. Online training tools are being developed and in-person training classes are currently being scheduled. Classroom training dates will be posted to the project website.
