Project Goal

  •  Update UCPath data to be an accurate reflection of the UC Davis organization (department roll up to sub-division to school / division).  Update Cognos to provide reporting based on UCPath without any customization.

Project Benefits

  • Accurate department / sub-division / division / school roll up for both campus and health

  • Remove custom coding in UCDavis Cognos that groups data differently than how data is set up in UCPath

  • Provide the ability in Cognos to filter by School / Division, Sub-Division and Department

  • Implement an updated process with appropriate oversight / approvals for future changes to the UCPath (department, sub-division, school/division data)

  • Identify an owner for each School / Division for future updates / oversight

  • Document the downstream impacts of realignments (changes in the department roll up)

What's Changing

  • Cognos will have an additional field for data selection. The current state includes Business Unit, School/Division, and Department. In the future state there will be a fourth selection. Future state will include Business Unit, School/Division, Sub-Division, and Department.
