- Expanded Sick and Reproductive Loss Leave
Launching: January 2025 Overview: UC will significantly expand access to paid sick leave effective Jan. 1, 2025. This change will allow for compliance with the new UC policy regarding Expansion of Sick Leave Compliance and the new UC policy regarding Reproduction Loss Leave.
Objectives:
- Modify Sick Leave Accrual and Eligibility rules to include expanded scope of
employees- Enable Employees to see Leave balances that align with current UC policies
- Provide Locations with reporting on Reproductive Loss Leave usage

Launching: February 2025 Overview: The Final Pay project aims to improve and streamline final pay processing using delivered UCPath final pay and navigation collection functionality.
Objectives:
- Streamline and reduce the effort to complete final pay activities
- Increase final pay accuracy by reducing manual entry and eliminating comment fields
- Increase data integrity by using UCPath data to drive final pay
- Improve leave, accrual and retirement accuracy (ensures rehired employees have accurate leave, accrual and retirement information)
- Improve the Off-boarding process by:
- Ensuring critical information is gathered

Launching: March 2025 Overview: This project will improve retroactive processing and create visibility for paycycle processing schedule. Improve retro processing will optimize delivered functionality and minimize manual intervention.
Objectives:
- Provide locations more time and additional details to review and address discrepancies.
- Provide locations visibility to scenarios where additional action is required
- More consistent processing of retros, improve pay, benefit accuracy
- Automate retro processing for UCPath to process retro requests with minimal manual intervention and reduced processing time.

Launching: July 2025 Overview: The Improve Manager and Employee Self Service project will deploy a modernized and accessible benefit enrollment, online confirmation statement, employee and manager self-service functionality
These changes will include a new UCPath online user experience to create an improved look and feel.Objectives:
- Ensure no reduction in existing customer functionality
- Simplify technology framework so enhancements delivered faster

Launching: Enhancements will be released in monthly phases Overview: The Improve UCPath Absence Management Accruals project focuses on improving processing by calculating, validating, and correcting UCPath accruals through delivered functionality along with changes to Absence Balances, Absence Takes, Absence Rules, Absence accruals and accumulate employee balances, and Absence Balances.
Objectives:
- Absence Balances: Modify the custom process to update with the correct balances.
- Absence Takes: Process will be updated to make it work more effectively with Time and Labor, and rerunnable in the event of a failure.
- Absence Rules: AM engine will be updated to fix rules associated related to accruing leaves; Vacation, Sick , PTO.
- Absence accruals and accumulate employee balances: Fix defects associated with employee changes (bi-weekly to monthly) and when an employee reports certain extended leaves (eg; FMLA, CFRA, PFCB, etc.).
- Absence Balances: Will reorder UC Path's processing ensuring complete and correct leave plan balances.

Direct Entry into Manage Human Resources
Deployed: November 2024
Overview: Provide an enhanced process for locations to enter new hires for Employees, Contingent Workers, and Concurrent Hires directly into UCPath with an approval framework
Objectives:
- Utilize the new Oracle-provided functionality to improve the user experience
- Review and add validations required to minimize downstream impacts
- Determine any additional audit reporting needs
- Review Payroll lockdown timeline/changes
- Evaluate the schedule for transitioning template functionality to Direct Entry
- Rewrite GL Assessments Phase 2
Deployed: November 2024 Overview: The Rewrite GL Assessments project will consolidate, centralize and streamline the generation of assessment information. As part of this project, UCPath Center will be updating assessments to calculate on rates of the original earning period (versus current paycheck dates) for retro payments.
What's coming?
- This project will consolidate, centralize, and streamline the generation of assessment information.
- The time and resources needed to generate CBR Assessment Reporting will be reduced.
- Transactors will see an improvement in On-cycle and Off-Cycle Salary Cost Transfer processing times, along with improved accuracy of financial reporting.
- There will be a significant reduction in data and process duplication.

Deployed: July 2024 Overview: Deliver a new solution to enhance security and make accessing the former employee portal easier.
Objectives:
- Provide a solution to replace the authentication process for former employees

Deployed: July 2024 Overview: Deliver a new submit on behalf of solution that improves the user experience and automates case classification
Objectives:
- Develop a new case submission solution that prevents duplicate cases, suggest knowledge articles for self-resolution and automatically classifies cases
- Provides more accurate service level targets
- Leverage existing solution components where possible to speed up the delivery of the new solution
- Gender Identity & Pronouns
Deployed: July 2024 Overview: Implement a solution to collect the employee's gender identity and sexual orientation, to be more inclusive and provide employees the opportunity to state the correct pronouns to use when referring to them, by implementing Oracle delivered new Gender Identity and Expression functionality.
Objectives:
- Enhance user experience in UCPath by providing employees the option to select Pronouns and allow selection of new options for Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation.
- Display Pronouns in UCPath transactor, ESS and MSS pages.
- Update reports and downstream systems, as required.
- Improve TAM Fluid Navigation
Deployed: July 2024 Overview: This project will provide a modernized design with improved functionality for recruitment teams and applicants, reduce customizations and implement a delivered solution. It will also remove security customizations to provide additional flexibility for how applicant details are managed.
Objectives:
- Streamline the applicant process with a fluid candidate gateway that leverages activity guides to meet each locations business needs
- Utilize a new home page and tiles that provide real time information
- Provide improved approval design for job offers and job openings
- Enable delivered security options to improve location flexibility for hiring teams to access information
- Case Submission Redesign for Employees & Reopen Cases
Deployed: April & May 2024 Overview: This project seeks to streamline the case submission process for employees by limiting the items employees have to select when entering cases and improve case classification by leveraging automation.
Objectives:
- Simplify the case submission form
- More accurately classify and auto route cases
- Provide a consistent case submission form
- Provide a streamlined case reopen process
- Replace PayPath Phase II - Implement Approvals
Deployed: March 2024 Overview: Reduce customizations and implement delivered solution. Provide a modernized solution leveraging Manage Job functionality. Accurately and reliably process job data information directly in UCPath is approval routing.

- Improve the accuracy for processing additional employee job data changes with approval routing
- Streamline job data transactions through specific guided processes while mitigating data entry errors
- Provide reliable and expected results with transaction changes
- Annual UCPath Upgrade to PUM 47
Deployed: March 2024 Overview: Routine deployment of the latest available PeopleSoft HCM software. Upgrade to PUM 47 and tax update through 24A. Currently UCPath is on PUM 44, Tools 8.60.07. Complete application retrofits where required. Complete re-platforming and upgrade to MuleSoft 4.4. Complete re-platforming of GoAnywhere.

Deployed: November 2023 Overview: The purpose of the UCPath GL Redesign is to reduce the complexity of UCPath. This includes building a new SCT tool that that meets business requirements and reduces current complexity when performing SCT-related entry (Direct Retro) and processing.

Deployed: May 2023 Overview: The Improve Time Collection project will streamline the UCPath time collection process by centrally collecting, managing, validating, and correcting UCPath time through delivered functionality (Time & Labor).

- Simplify time correction; realize improvements in pay accuracy

Overview:
In 2023 UCPath is 5 versions behind the current Oracle PeoplesSoft System Version 42, this restricts efficiencies and functionality implementation. As of August 2022, UCPC and UCOP launched the system-wide 2022 Annual UCPath Upgrade to rectify this situation.All locations, including UC Davis and UC Davis Health, are collaborating with UCPC on this upgrade effort.

- Enhance the ability to apply Oracle bug fixes and take advantage of new HCM (Human Capital Management) functionality

Deployed: June 2023 Training Resources
Overview: To achieve compliance with the Gender Recognition and Lived Name Policy we will implement Lived Name in UCPath by adopting People Soft Global Name delivered functionality.Objectives:
- Enhance the user experience in UCPath by providing employees the ability to use their lived name rather than a legal name
- Enable lived name to display on all UCPath pages where legal name is not required
- Update reports and downstream systems as needed due to change
- Enhance Ask UCPath Landing Page
Deployed: April 2022 Overview: The UCPath Center undertook an initiative in 2022 to identify opportunities that create capacity and improve the user experience of the Ask UCPath help site.
Objectives:
- Enhance the Ask UCPath user experience by delivering a redesigned site to all employees that is user friendly, mobile responsive, and accessibility compliant
- Reorganize and promote relevant content
- Enable employees to search for their case information
- Increase awareness of help features
- New UCPath Navigation
Deployed: 10/15/2022 Overview: On October 15, 2022, all UCPath transactional users saw a new navigational interface when they accessed PeopleSoft. The PeopleSoft pages did not change, only the navigation to the pages.
Objectives:
- Improves the overall user experience with an intuitive navigation design
- Streamlines navigation so transactors can find and enter information quicker and more efficiently
- Serves as the starting point to take advantage of future UCPath functionality
- Final Pay (Phase I)
Deployed: 12/5/2022 Overview: Issuing a terminated employee's final pay is completely manual and requires significant coordination between UCD and UCPath Center (UCPC) Payroll Production. The Improving Final Pay project increases the accuracy and efficiency of these requests. This is a multi phase approach in which phase 1 was deployed December 5, 2022.

Deployed: 12/10/2022 Overview: UC is implementing a new systemwide Common Chart of Accounts (CCoA) structure. As part of the CCoA redesign, all locations have agreed to a single new UC-wide chartfield (CF) order. The purpose of this project is to update UCPath page chartfield ordering adhering to the new UC systemwide standard.
Objectives:
- A visual update to the PeopleSoft Pages used for CCoA entry
- Develop customization as a bolt-on to make future PUM Upgrades more manageable
- Redesign PeopleSoft Page(s) associated with Funding chartfields
