PUM Upgrade Overview

On Dec. 10–13, the UCPath will receive some new features and fixes as part of the PUM upgrade cutover. This upgrade brings UCPath up to the current version of Oracle PeopleSoft Human Capital Management System.

Since UCPath was introduced in the UC System, the upgrades had been paused for the duration of the phased rollout across all UC locations. During that time, UCPath fell behind on 20 Oracle system upgrades. The PUM upgrade enables UCPath to catch up to the current version, which improves stability, expands functionality and reduces security risks. This upgrade enables UCPath to get current and stay current.

What does the PUM upgrade mean for UC Davis?

While the PUM upgrade does not impact the employee experience in UCPath Online, those who regularly use Workforce Administration (WFA) and ePerformance will notice a few of the new features and fixes. The following table provides a comparison between current state and future state, after the PUM upgrade is complete.

UCPath PUM upgrade impact summary

Module
Current State
Future State

WFA

Submitted, or requested, template transactions are not categorized on the Transaction Status page. This allows them to be deleted after the finalization of the Approval Workflow at UC Davis but prior to being processed by UCPath Center within Manage Transactions.

Submitted, or requested, template transactions are now properly categorized on the Transaction Status page. Users cannot select the check box to delete the template transaction.

ePerformance

The ePerformance Template setup page does not have the ability to allow self-evaluation attachments for employees; it only allows manager attachments.

ePerformance Administrators will have access to enable both employee and manager attachments under template setup page.

ePerformance

As users navigate around ePerformance and return to Performance Documents, Search Criteria is lost and users must re-enter Search Criteria. Locations reported this issue under UCP-87355.

The new “Return to View Performance Documents” link in ePerformance will retain search criteria after users navigate away from the search page.

Worklist update: Opening items in new browser tabs

After the PUM upgrade, UCPath worklist users will notice that when they click on an item in the portal worklist, it will open in a new browser tab, allowing them to view item details and return to the worklist.
